First time with peptides? Start here — my recommended beginner guide
I get this question almost daily so I'm putting together my standard advice for peptide beginners. Step 1: Pick ONE goal Don't try to solve everything at once. Pick your primary goal: - Injury recovery → BPC-157 or Wolverine Stack - Fat loss → Tirzepatide or AOD9604 - Sleep/recovery → CJC/Ipamorelin - Skin/anti-aging → GHK-Cu - Immune support → Thymosin Alpha-1 - Focus/anxiety → Semax or Selank Step 2: Learn to reconstitute It's easier than it sounds. BAC water + insulin syringe. There are great videos out there. Mito Labs also has instructions with every order. Step 3: Start with one peptide Don't stack 5 things on day one. Run one peptide for 4-6 weeks, assess results, then consider adding a second. Step 4: Be consistent Peptides aren't magic pills. They work through consistent dosing over weeks. Skipping days reduces effectiveness. Step 5: Track your results Take photos. Write notes. Track sleep with a wearable if you have one. You'll forget how you felt at the start if you don't document. Common mistakes: - Overdosing (start low, increase gradually) - Not refrigerating reconstituted peptides - Eating within 2 hours of GH peptides (blunts the response) - Giving up after 1 week (most peptides need 2-4 weeks to show results) - Buying too many peptides at once and not knowing what's working Feel free to ask questions below. No such thing as a dumb question when you're learning.
Welcome! Start here — FAQ & dosing basics
Hey everyone, welcome to the Mito Labs community! A few things that come up a lot: How do I store my peptides? Keep them refrigerated (2-8°C) once reconstituted. Lyophilized (powder) vials are stable at room temperature but fridge is still best. How do I reconstitute? Use bacteriostatic water (BAC water). Inject slowly down the side of the vial, don't spray directly onto the powder. Gently swirl — never shake. Where do I inject? Subcutaneous (under the skin) — belly fat or thigh are the most common spots. Rotate injection sites. How long until I see results? Depends on the peptide. BPC-157 for injuries, many people notice improvement within 1-2 weeks. GH peptides like CJC/Ipamorelin, give it 4-6 weeks for body composition changes. Feel free to ask anything — that's what this community is for.
IGF-LR3 for muscle growth — who's used it and what protocol?
I'm looking into IGF-LR3 as an addition to my recovery/performance stack. From what I understand it's one of the more potent peptides for muscle hypertrophy and recovery. A few things I want to clarify: - Is it dosed in mcg not mg? The 1mg vial seems like it should last a while - Best protocol for someone who trains hard but isn't a bodybuilder? - Can it be stacked with CJC/Ipamorelin or would that be overkill on the GH axis? - Is there any truth to the concerns about it affecting blood sugar? I'm 34, 88kg, train CrossFit 5x/week. Main goal is recovery and lean mass. Not trying to get huge, just want to perform better and recover faster.
Ordered at 10pm, delivered by 9am — these guys don't mess around
Ran out of BPC mid-protocol (my fault for not reordering sooner). Messaged Mito Labs on WhatsApp at 10pm on a Tuesday, fully expecting to wait until the next afternoon. They confirmed the order within 15 minutes and a rider was at my place in Ubud by 9am Wednesday morning. Cold-packed, properly labeled, with a little info card about the product. I've lived in Bali 6 years and this level of service is rare for anything, let alone specialty health products. The fact that they stock everything locally (no waiting for international shipping) is a massive advantage. Also appreciate that they don't oversell or make medical claims. Just quality products with good information.
AOD9604 vs Tirzepatide for fat loss — different mechanisms?
I'm trying to understand the difference between AOD9604 and GLP-1 agonists like Tirzepatide for fat loss. From my research: - AOD9604 = fragment of human growth hormone, targets fat cells directly - Tirzepatide = GLP-1/GIP agonist, works through appetite suppression and insulin So they work completely differently? Could you theoretically stack them? I'm leaning towards AOD9604 because I don't want appetite suppression — I actually enjoy eating and I'm quite active. I just have stubborn lower belly fat that won't budge. Anyone used AOD9604 on its own for targeted fat loss? Results?
Women and peptides — what I wish I knew before starting
There's a lot of info online about peptides but almost all of it is written by and for men. As a woman who's been using peptides for about 6 months, here's what I've learned: Dosing is different. Most protocols online are for 80-100kg men. At 58kg I typically use 50-60% of the commonly recommended dose and get full effects. Start lower than you think. Menstrual cycle matters. Some peptides (especially GH secretagogues) can affect your cycle timing. Not dangerously, but worth tracking. My cycle shifted by 3 days when I started CJC/Ipa. Skin benefits are usually faster. Women tend to notice GHK-Cu and glutathione skin improvements faster than men (possibly because we're paying more attention, or hormonal differences in collagen). Weight loss peptides work slightly differently. Tirzepatide appetite suppression hit me harder than the men I know using it. Had to be very careful about eating enough protein. What works great for women: - GHK-Cu for skin and hair - Glutathione for skin brightening - BPC-157 for joint health (especially if you do yoga/Pilates) - Selank for hormonal anxiety - CJC/Ipa for sleep (lower dose than men) Would love to hear from other women in this community about their experiences.
VIP peptide for gut health and IBS — an underrated option
Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) doesn't get enough attention in the peptide community. Most people jump straight to BPC-157 for gut issues, but VIP works through completely different mechanisms. VIP is naturally produced in your gut and nervous system. It: - Regulates intestinal motility - Reduces inflammation in the gut lining - Modulates the gut-brain axis - Supports healthy gut barrier function I've been using it with clients who have IBS, SIBO, and chronic gut inflammation — often after BPC-157 alone wasn't enough. Protocol I recommend: - 50mcg subQ daily, building up to 100mcg over 2 weeks - Run for 4-6 weeks - Can be stacked with BPC-157 for a comprehensive gut protocol The research on VIP is extensive but it's mostly in academic journals so it flies under the radar of the biohacking community. Happy to discuss if anyone has questions.
Blood work markers to track on peptides — my monitoring protocol
I recommend all my clients get baseline blood work before starting any peptide protocol. Here's what I check and why: Essential (everyone): - Fasting glucose + HbA1c (especially if using GH peptides or GLP-1 agonists) - Liver panel (ALT, AST, GGT) - Kidney function (creatinine, eGFR) - CBC (complete blood count) If using GH peptides (CJC, Tesamorelin): - IGF-1 (measures growth hormone output) - Fasting insulin If using weight loss peptides (Tirzepatide, Retatrutide): - Lipid panel (total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides) - Thyroid panel (TSH, free T4) If using anti-aging peptides (Epithalon, NAD+): - Inflammatory markers (hsCRP, ESR) - Vitamin D (often low in Bali expats despite the sun) Frequency: Baseline before starting, then every 8-12 weeks while on peptides. Prolab in Denpasar does comprehensive panels for reasonable prices. DM me if you want the specific panel codes I order. Tracking blood work takes peptide use from "I feel better" to "I can prove it's working and it's safe." Worth the effort.
Why I switched all my clients to Mito Labs — a practitioner's perspective
I've been practicing functional medicine for 8 years and recommending peptides for the last 3. I've tried multiple suppliers across Asia and I want to share why Mito Labs is now my exclusive recommendation. Testing: They provide certificates of analysis. Not all suppliers do, and of those that do, not all are legitimate. I've had Mito Labs' BPC-157 and GHK-Cu independently tested — both came back at stated purity (>98%). Cold chain: This matters enormously in Bali's climate. Every delivery arrives with ice packs in insulated packaging. I've received orders from other suppliers that arrived warm. Peptides degrade in heat. Consistency: In 6 months of ordering, not a single vial has been underfilled, mislabeled, or compromised. The reconstitution is always clean with no particulates. Range: 28 products means I can build comprehensive protocols without sourcing from multiple suppliers. Service: They respond on WhatsApp within hours. One time I had a question about stacking and they connected me with someone knowledgeable who actually understood the pharmacology. I'm not being paid to say this. As a practitioner, product quality is my reputation. I need to trust what I'm giving clients.
KLOW Blend for chronic inflammation — freediver perspective
As a freediver, managing inflammation is critical. Repeated deep dives put enormous pressure on your lungs, sinuses, and joints. I've been using the KLOW Blend for about 5 weeks. Why I chose it: The blend targets systemic inflammation through multiple pathways. As someone who puts their body under extreme pressure regularly, I wanted something comprehensive. What I noticed: - Ear and sinus pressure equalisation improved (fewer "squeaky" dives) - Post-dive headaches are almost gone - Joint inflammation in my shoulders and hips reduced - I feel like I recover faster between dive sessions - Breath hold times have improved slightly, possibly due to reduced lung inflammation I wouldn't say this is a magic bullet but the cumulative effect after 5 weeks is meaningful. I'm able to train more consistently with less downtime. Anyone else using this for sports recovery?
Anyone using Semax or Selank for focus/productivity?
I work remotely from Bali and my productivity has been all over the place. Looked into nootropic peptides and Semax and Selank keep coming up. From what I've read: - Semax = more stimulating, good for focus and cognitive performance - Selank = more calming, good for anxiety + focus without the stimulation I don't want anything that feels like a stimulant (I already drink too much coffee). Leaning towards Selank but curious what the community's experience has been. Do you dose these daily or as-needed?
Storing peptides in Bali — power outages and heat concerns
My area in Ubud gets power outages pretty regularly, sometimes for several hours. My peptides are in the fridge but I'm worried about them degrading during outages. Questions: - How long can reconstituted peptides survive at room temperature (Bali = 28-32°C)? - Should I get a mini UPS for my peptide fridge? - Are some peptides more heat-stable than others? - Has anyone had a peptide go bad and how did you know? - Any tips for traveling between islands with peptides?
Melanotan II — safe tanning in Bali or is it risky?
I'm very fair-skinned (Irish heritage) and I burn within 20 minutes here in Bali. I've heard Melanotan II can help you tan without as much UV exposure. But I've also seen some concerning things online about side effects — nausea, moles darkening, etc. Can anyone share their actual experience? - What dose do you use? - How long before you noticed tanning? - Did existing moles get darker? (this worries me) - Do you still use sunscreen? - Any other side effects?
Fastest delivery I've experienced in Bali
Just wanted to give a shout out to the Mito Labs team. Ordered 3 vials on a Tuesday afternoon, the delivery rider was at my villa in Ubud within 90 minutes. Everything was cold-packed with ice packs in an insulated bag. I've ordered from other suppliers before where the peptides arrived warm and questionable. The attention to cold chain here is really reassuring — you can tell they actually care about product quality. Already placed my second order.
Reconstitution basics — how much BAC water for different vial sizes?
I'm new to peptides and the reconstitution step is intimidating. The math confuses me. If I have a 10mg vial and want to dose 250mcg per injection, how much BAC water do I add? And how much do I draw up per dose? Also: - Does it matter if I add 1ml vs 2ml of BAC water? Does more water = weaker? - How do I measure on an insulin syringe? - How long does it last once reconstituted? - Can I pre-fill syringes for convenience? Sorry if these are basic questions — I'm coming from an Ayurvedic background and the syringe/vial world is new to me.
Super Human Blend — 4 week review for athletic performance
Just finished my first cycle of the Super Human Blend. For those who don't know, it's a multi-peptide blend designed for performance and recovery. I'm a CrossFit coach so I train hard 5-6 days a week. The past year I've been feeling more beat up than usual — slower recovery, persistent joint soreness, and my sleep quality has declined. Protocol: 500mcg daily, pinned subQ before bed What I noticed: Week 1: Sleep improved noticeably. Deeper, more restorative. Woke up feeling actually rested. Week 2: Recovery between sessions was faster. The usual 2-day DOMS after heavy squat days was down to about 1 day. Week 3: Joint soreness in my elbows and knees reduced significantly. Started adding volume to my training. Week 4: Hit a few PRs in the gym. Nothing crazy but the trend is clearly up. Body composition looks tighter. The convenience of a single vial vs buying 3-4 separate peptides is a big plus. Value-wise it makes more sense than buying individual vials too. Planning to run 8 weeks total with 4 weeks off, then repeat.
The healing stack: TB-500 + BPC-157 blend — my protocol
A lot of people ask me about stacking TB-500 and BPC-157 so I figured I'd write it up. I use the Mito Labs blend (20mg vial, 10mg of each). For a general healing/recovery protocol: Loading phase (weeks 1-2): - 500mcg of the blend 2x/day (morning and evening) - Pin as close to the injury site as practical Maintenance (weeks 3-4): - 250mcg 1x/day Key tips: - These peptides work synergistically — BPC-157 works locally at the injury site while TB-500 has a more systemic effect - Don't skip days during the loading phase - Store reconstituted vials in the fridge, use within 3-4 weeks - You can also run BPC-157 on its own for gut healing (250mcg 2x/day) I've recommended this protocol to probably 20+ clients at my retreat and the feedback has been consistently positive, especially for tendon and ligament injuries.
TB-500 for overall recovery during Ironman training — 8 week log
I'm training for Ironman Bali and the volume is brutal: 15-20 hours/week of swim/bike/run. Recovery was becoming the limiting factor. Protocol: TB-500 2.5mg subQ 2x/week for 4 weeks, then 2.5mg 1x/week for 4 weeks What I tracked: - Resting heart rate (via Garmin) - HRV (heart rate variability) - Weekly training volume - Injury niggles Results: - RHR dropped from 52 to 47 (better cardiovascular recovery) - HRV improved from avg 45 to avg 58 - Training volume: was able to increase from 16 to 20 hrs/week without breakdown - A chronic plantar fascia issue that's been bothering me for months resolved by week 6 - No new injuries despite significantly higher volume TB-500 is known for systemic healing rather than localised like BPC-157. For endurance athletes putting their body through repeated stress, it's ideal. I'm convinced it's the reason I've been able to push training volume without the usual accumulation of micro-injuries. Will definitely continue through race day.
Thymosin Alpha-1 for immune support — my protocol for Bali living
Living in Bali, your immune system gets tested constantly — different water, different bugs, tropical climate. I started using Thymosin Alpha-1 about 4 months ago and the difference has been notable. What it does: TA1 modulates the immune system — it upregulates when you need more immune activity and calms things down when there's excessive inflammation. It's actually approved as a drug in several countries for hepatitis and as an immune adjunct. My protocol: - 1.6mg subQ every other day for the first 2 weeks - Then 1.6mg 2x/week for maintenance Results: - I used to get a "Bali belly" episode every 2-3 months. Haven't had one since starting TA1 - Recovered from a cold in 2 days flat (usually knocks me out for a week) - General sense of robustness — hard to quantify but I feel more resilient - No side effects whatsoever I now recommend this to every guest at my retreat as a first peptide. It's gentle, well-researched, and the benefits for expat life in the tropics are real. Stack suggestion: TA1 + Glutathione for comprehensive immune and detox support.
Best peptide for sleep? Looking at DSIP vs Pinealon
I've been struggling with sleep quality — I fall asleep fine but wake up at 3am and can't get back to sleep. Tried magnesium, sleep hygiene, no screens etc. Nothing works consistently. I see Mito Labs has DSIP and Pinealon, both seem to target sleep. Has anyone tried either or both? What was your experience? Mainly interested in: - Which one actually works for staying asleep (not just falling asleep) - Any grogginess the next morning? - How long you ran it for
My longevity stack — feedback? NAD+ / Epithalon / SS-31 / MOTS-C
I've been building what I call my "longevity stack" and want to get feedback from more experienced users: Current stack: - NAD+ 200mg subQ EOD (mitochondrial support) - Epithalon 1mg/day x 10 days, every 6 months (telomere maintenance) - SS-31 5mg subQ daily (mitochondrial membrane) - MOTS-C 5mg/week (metabolic/AMPK activation) Questions: 1. Is running all four simultaneously overkill? Or do they target different enough pathways? 2. Any negative interactions I should be aware of? 3. Should I cycle any of these or can they be run continuously? 4. Am I missing anything obvious for a longevity-focused protocol? 5. Budget-wise, which ones give the most bang for the buck if I had to drop one? I'm 35, good health, no specific issues — purely interested in optimizing healthspan. Would love input from the practitioners in this community.
Retatrutide vs Tirzepatide — which is better for weight management?
I see Mito Labs has both Tirzepatide and Retatrutide now. From what I understand: - Tirzepatide = dual agonist (GIP + GLP-1) - Retatrutide = triple agonist (GIP + GLP-1 + Glucagon) So Retatrutide is the "newer generation" version? The triple mechanism apparently targets fat loss more aggressively but I'm worried it might be too strong or have worse side effects. Has anyone tried both? Or switched from Tirzepatide to Retatrutide? What was the difference like? Also curious about dosing — do you start lower with Retatrutide since it's more potent?
